Message From Inspector 1144 Head |

Message from Inspector Head:
At 13:00 hours on 24 June, I authorised a dispersal order covering Market Street, Market Place, Lord Street, Heaton Street, and Church Street, Gainsborough. This order will be in place for a period of 48 hours.
The order has been issued as I am satisfied, on reasonable grounds, that the use of these powers within the locality and specified timeframe is necessary for the purpose of removing or reducing the likelihood of: A) Members of the public being subjected to harassment, alarm, or distress;
This decision has been made in light of current hot weather conditions, which increase the likelihood of alcohol-related anti-social behaviour. Street drinking has already had a detrimental impact on local businesses. Furthermore, with the ongoing World Cup, it is anticipated that there will be increased patronage at licensed premises within the locality, leading to higher levels of alcohol consumption and a corresponding rise in anti-social behaviour.
Under this order, officers are authorised to direct individuals suspected of being involved in anti-social behaviour to leave the designated area for the duration of the order. Failure to comply with such a direction may result in arrest. | ||
